Groede Podium surprises visitors as a green bunker park with a large playground and various animals. The bunkers from 1942 stand as silent witnesses of the Second World War, once part of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall, inviting you to explore their secrets. Several bunkers can still be visited from the inside. You can also learn more about the wartime stories of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, the history of the surrounding landscape, and even follow an entire bunker trail.
Groede Podium unites nature, history and experience in one unique location within the Schelde Delta. The bunkers recall a dark period when the landscape became part of a military defence line: the Atlantikwall. After the war, this area evolved into a place of play, tranquillity and remembrance.
