This polder at the foot of the Brabant Escarpment was reclaimed in 1685. The original pattern of ditches is still present. Due to groundwater seepage, it is a humid area with plants such as Holpipe (seepage species), Great rattle (moist hay meadow) and Whitstalk (moist hay meadow). Screech owls live in the pollard willows. The greylag goose and greater white-fronted goose also use this as a resting area.
